The Little Things Day 22: Dare To

When he really wants me to do something now, he says “I dare you to!” because his older sister taught him about truth or dare. He hands me books and says “I dare you to read these to me”, and how can I not? He dares me to be in the moment, to savor these days that he’s little as they fly by too fast. Sometimes when you’re challenged, dared – you push yourself farther, you make yourself do what you might not have otherwise. Soak up the little things. I dare you to.

“Dare to err and to dream. Deep meaning often lies in childish plays.” ~ Friedrich Schiller

The Little Things Day 21: Boots

The next 10 days of The Little Things series are going to be more fun – just me sharing some of the little things in my life that make me smile. Maybe they’ll inspire you to notice the little things in your corner of the world that can make a day brighter. It doesn’t have to be all deep and meaningful. Sometimes the best part of a day can just be putting on cute boots for the first time in 6 months because it’s finally cold enough to cover your toes.

The Little Things Day 20: Indirectly

I went to a documentary movie tonight with some friends. It was about the vanishing bees. This beautiful quote was included in the movie and I loved it.

“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Doesn’t that just sum up the importance of little things? That one small action affects everyone? One little thing can change the world. These little things are big.
