Today, my hubby has a birthday. On days like these for all the people I love, I think about the things that make me love them, make them important to me, and make up the relationships we have.
I think about how when he set up the tripod to take this picture, he tripped over it on the way into the picture and that is why he’s not totally in the picture. He trips over everything. It’s a big joke around here. I know that if I didn’t have him around, I’d miss hearing things get kicked around as he stumbled over them.
Last week I went to the grocery store to grab one thing that I was missing for my recipe for dinner. While there, I stopped in the ice cream aisle and was standing pondering what ice cream to get (a true rarity to get any at all!) when my cell phone rang and it was him – asking me if I might get some peanut butter cup ice cream while I was there. Our little line we say when we both think something at the same time is “we should get married!” and we laugh.
I love those little things – we all have them with the people we are closest to in our lives. Those little things are the things that make us closer, more trusting, more loving toward one another. The little things are what make love what it is.
It’s the little things that keep us together.

My hubby and I always say “We should get married sometime!” How funny that you say almost the same thing.

It is absolutely the little things, the simple pleasures, and the fleeting moments that make life and love special. Thank you thank you for sharing yours!
