Today was a day that was full of unexpected frustrations and mishaps. A day that it was harder to see the little things than usual. A day that felt fast, hurried, frazzled. Those are the days when finding the sliver of perfection is most important. Some days everything goes right – it’s easy to rattle off all of the wonderful things that happened and the little grumbles along the way are drowned out by the sound of happy. Some days it’s the opposite – the day is so full of the frustrating things that the good stuff gets drowned out. Don’t let it be drowned out. Focus on the good, the happy moment of the day when you sat with a friend over coffee and smoothies and laughed so hard your cheeks hurt. Those slivers of perfection are there for a reason – to remind you how good life is.

I really needed to read this just now. Thank you.

yes! exactly!! sometimes it is just one minute of a very long day, but those slivers *are* there. Had a day like that myself today, and whilst I’m not glad you had one too, I’m glad you found your sliver.

Thanks for these wonderful reminders!

I often find these slivers of perfection in nature…a heart shaped rock, a bird flying into the house (amazingly this happens quite often!), the sound of children playing. We just have to be open for those special moments. Thanks for the reminder!
