I bought myself flowers today. It seemed appropriate for a Monday after a dreary weekend. I cut the stems, filled a vase with water and set them on my kitchen counter. Suddenly, with that small gesture, the rest of the kitchen appeared to need sprucing. I wiped down the counters again, scrubbed the sink a little more, removed some random clutter from the window sills and counters, mopped the floor.
One little thing – one pretty, bright thing – inspired me to keep making the rest of my space pretty and bright. As I tidied, I went into other rooms, placing things in their homes, opening curtains, making home feel home again. I don’t know about you, but some Mondays I wake up and look around me and wonder who’s disastrous house this is and wonder how I got here. One small thing – $4 flowers – helped turn it all around. Made it all pretty again. Made it feel like cozy home again.

I did the same thing Saturday, cut a few little rosebuds from our front yard and put them in the kitchen. It is amazing how one little thing can aid in brightening up our day!
My memory card from my old camera died – we’ve been through a lot together. Hopefully your camera and Mac sort out their differences soon!

I always feel so much better after I clean. I too look around & wonder how my house got to crazy!
