31 Days of Change

31 Days of Change

Hello. Is this thing on? I am so out of practice with this blogging thing, so let’s see if I remember how to do this.

I am still on vacation. I know, right?

I’m taking a break from the outdoors, sunshine, splashing in the water, and soaking up these days of summer to let you know about what’s coming up in October here. Remember last year when I spent the month of October writing 31 Days of Living Simply? The same group of us, minus Kendra who stopped blogging (sniff sniff) and plus Jessica from The Mom Creative (yay!).

Coming October 1st, we’ll all be joining together again to share our voices about the things we’re passionate about.

The fun twist for this year is that we’re inviting all of you, anyone who wants to spend the month of October posting each day about that which you love, to link up with us. There will be linkies and details about such as the time gets closer. I want to let you know now so that you can get thinking about what you’d like to share in October.

~It isn’t the big pleasures that count the most; it’s making a great deal out of the little ones.

~I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

~We can not do great things. We can only do little things with great love.

For the month of October, I’ll be writing about 31 Days of the Little Things. As each day passes, I find that a day doesn’t have to be full of the beautiful, cheerful moments. Days do not have to be stress-free. There will always be days with kids arguing, messes being made, of the imperfect moments that I sometimes find myself wishing away. But without the mundane, messy moments, it would be harder to see the tiny slivers of perfection, peace, beauty. Focusing on those moments or savoring them, naming them, letting them define a day more than the ugly makes it easier to get up and keep going each day. I want to write for the month of October about not just little shiny moments (though they will be there), I also will be sharing bits about how the little things can make a difference in our homes, our relationships, and our hearts.

I don’t even have a catchy name or button for this project yet, but that will come. For now, I’m inviting you to join in and giving you the time to think about it as the time approaches.

If you weren’t here last October, here’s a list of last year’s series and participants for you to peruse in anticipation of October.  Happy Reading!
