We arrived at the cottage a week ago and have been living and loving it up. Days spent in our bathing suits followed by evenings cozied up in our jammies, playing card games and checkers and doing puzzles. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our summer vacation. The days are long and for each one that passes, I am so grateful that my kids are experiencing the same fun I did here as a child. When they splash and play in the lake together, giggling and racing and jumping off the dock over and over again, I think back to those same moments my own brother and I had right here. Many happy smiles and memories return. So fun!!

Enjoy every second of it. My family cottage where my sister and I spent the summers of our childhood is currently surrounded by a dike and going to flood in the next few weeks. My sister and I are both devestated that we aren’t going to be able to spend time up there allowing our children to enjoy the blessing that we got to enjoy. Now to find something to turn this summer around!!
