I woke up and had two kiddos more willing to help snuggle me than to help with breakfast in bed. I received a crown, some pipe cleaner and tissue paper flowers in a hand painted vase, some handmade cards and lots of hugs. Mother’s Day around here is also known as the-one-day-a-year-I-force-the-family-to-pose-nicely-for-pictures-together. We all survived and celebrated with a picnic and some strolling. All I asked for today was no whining. I didn’t get it, but boy were they pretty good. This afternoon, my daughter and I planted a mother’s day garden in the backyard and my amazing hubby slaved away on a fence to protect it from critters (dogs and chickens). I feel so blessed, even if no one else cleaned the bathrooms for me. Here’s hoping your day was wonderful, too, in whatever capacity the day came to you.
