This morning there was a Mother’s Day Tea at my son’s preschool. I am the only one who knew nothing about it. We were sick all week and the notice was on the door Wednesday when we weren’t there. All the other moms showed up in really cute dresses with fabulous accessories and cute shoes. I was in my running clothes and running shoes. I felt really lame. I know my son doesn’t care about such things, he was just glad to have me there helping him finish his donut and lemonade (by *tea* they didn’t really mean tea).
My son gave me a beautiful basil plant that he planted himself and helped to grow in a handpainted pot. It is so awesome and I am a little shocked that somehow I went from having a little baby in my arms to having a boy that plants me things for Mother’s Day.
He also answered the above questions about me. It’s funny to me how a person can be summed up so easily when we sometimes (always?) try to complicate ourselves. I am tall with brown hair and love red, fruit, and playing outside. What more do you need to know about me?
What would the answers on your card of questions about you say?

It is obvious that your son loves you and you love him – that’s the most important thing in this world.
Everything else doesn’t matter.

I like that you’re not just tall, you’re ‘really tall’. Cute!

Us moms compared answers and it was so cute that some of the kids said “regular” “in between” “taller than me” or “big”.
So cute!!
