Yesterday afternoon, I took my kids and met some friends at a nearby farm so we could all pick hydroponic strawberries together. The kids loved it, and I loved it too. We came home with 5 lbs of strawberries, two huge onions (they use them as pest control for the strawberries), and some spinach too. Yum! Well, yum as long as I don’t eat all three together.
We got home armed with bags of strawberries enough to fulfill our smoothie addiction for at least 2 days.
It doesn’t get much simpler than this:
- 2 cups strawberries
- 1 cup nonfat milk
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp yogurt, if you like
- If you are the banana eating type, which I am NOT – yuck (a new fun fact for you about me), my daughter claims they are very yummy in this too.
**sometimes I don’t feel like having the milk, so I’ll just use a handful of ice cubes instead.

I’ve never had peanut butter and strawberries together. But since I’m a fan of both I’ll certainly give this a try.

Emily, I am with you on the bananas. They have got to be the most vile food on earth.

Mmmm…looks good. I love strawberries and I should eat a banana everyday since I’m low on potassium. I should go make a smoothie! Never would have thought to add peanut butter, but I’m sure it’s good.

I love peanut butter with strawberry jelly, so I can imagine that I’d like a strawberry peanut butter smoothie! When we get into our own place I can’t wait to find my blender for stuff like this!
