$15 Entryway Makeover #2

$15 Entryway Makeover #2

A while back, I gave our entryway a $15 Makeover and I loved it and lived with it like that until a couple of weeks ago. The shelf on the wall was having some issues and I needed the storage bench in another room. That’s what happens when I need something and insist on using what I already have. Suddenly my entryway was bare again and in need of a facelift.

Here’s how it was before relocating the shelf and bench:

For $15, hubby bought and installed a piece of beaded board and a shelf above it. I wanted the space to be plain and simple but not bare and boring. I hope I pulled it off. A few pictures, the letter W and a chair for putting on and taking off shoes at the door are all I thought we needed. My daughter added the touch of a freshly cut rose from the yard. It’s working great so far. Not one to take a million pictures of one project, here is one:

You know, I love how crisp and springy this looks.

And yes, I am so familiar with the “house that Jack built, give a mouse a cookie” domino effect of using and moving around what you have. :-)

It looks very good. I love the simplicity. White is always a good solution for me.

That beadboard really makes the yellow wall pop! I think you accomplished your goal. ;) Love the “keep calm and have a cupcake” print. Thank you so much for the comment on my blog today. What an honor to hear from you! :)

Hi over from SimpleMom. Loved your post there and am loving your blog so far! Would love any tips you have on someone who is just starting out. We have lived in our home for 5 years and it needs a major facelift. I haven’t really done anything since we moved in, and I can’t take it anymore!
