There are so many things that I can wake up each day and do. I can make long lists of projects to complete, errands to run, meals to prepare. I can think of all the things I need to do if I want my life to be simpler. Do this, don’t do that. Can’t you read the signs? (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. It’s what happens when I write tired.)
Maybe it’s better to think of the things I want to be, instead of making lists of all the things I think I need to do.
I want to be:
: more patient
: more present
: more thankful
: more content
Sounds a lot better than a list of chores or errands to run.
Work on those things, the rest comes easy. Suddenly those errands don’t seem so pressing.

Reminds me that I’m a human BEING…not a human DOING!

What a refreshing idea! And perfect for a Thursday, my tiredest day of the week. I going to try this out.

This hits home today. I could really use a dose of patience and a dash of presence this morning.

My favorite post yet! It’s so true… as I stare at my to-do-list of work needing to get done. I’ll try to make time to make another list and stick it on my computer.

I’m going to go make my own list right now!

this could certainly be my list!

So so good. It must be fun living in your head.

It’s definitely easier to do than it is to be. Great list!

It’s so easy to be ruled and stressed by the to-do list and completely miss the real reasons behind the list. Maybe if we concentrated more on the why than the what we’d be less stressed and more content.

Love this! Focus and concentrate on the good, inspiring things. Way better than chores! ha! Lovely, again, Emily! xo

Oh, so you’re an errand runner too? I’m always relieved each week when I don’t have any to do. I’m learning that such lists could be cut down significantly.
