Sometimes, I feel quiet. Like I have nothing left to share that hasn’t already been shared. I feel like I would rather just live it out than document it all. Days blend together – all different, but so much the same. Moments happen – all beautiful whether expressed in photos or words or if they are simply left to memory. There is so much to do, so much that’s done each day. Small things, big things. Moments that take my breath away. Moments that I can’t wait to have end. There is always the doing. Sometimes, I want nothing more than to just be.

I’m with you, especially on those summer days with the breeze blowing and the children playing. Thank you for giving us all ‘permission’ to just BE and blog about that, if nothing else.
Beautiful photo.

Not sure which I love more – the post or the photo. Both are remarkable.

Such a short post that makes a huge statement! I totally understand where you’re coming from. I think today was one of those days for me. There were no high points or low points, just a day…
But, I recently discovered your blog, so I’d love to hear anything you have to say;-)
Have a good night!

you know I didn’t see your daughter in the photo at first. I was so captivated by you and your son’s eyes. Great shot. Even better words.

Lovely photo! And I can relate. It’s nice to just to have the time to “be” and not have to “do” all the time.

I hear ya on this one!!! I frequently am on the go go go and when I’m about to meltdown, I decide to go home, shut off the phones and do nothing. How we best recharge is a part of our DNA…some prefer being with their friends and while that will sometimes allow me to let off steam, I find myself preferring solace the older I get. ; )
Hope you’re enjoying some quiet and time to just be!
XOXO

i love that you posted this. so easy to forget that there is no obligation to document it all – but that there *is* an obligation to be ‘present’ – always. (or as much as we can manage!)
beautiful photo. That is one you will hold in 30 yrs and really treasure.

Oh, this picture is so beautiful, Emily, and a great reminder to just be. I always love coming here!

Emily, I always LOVE your “everyday” photo’s of you with your children….does your hubby grab your camera a lot, or do you use the timer?

Hubby doesn’t grab the camera a lot – all I wanted for Mother’s Day was for him to take some pictures so I could be in them!

What a sweet photo. And a reminder to stay in the moment sometimes. I think I’ll go ‘be’ somewhere now.

I am in love with your style of photography!!! I have to remind myself often to open my eyes and SEE the blessings before me so that I can just “be” but its not always easy to do! Thanks for the reminder!
