Inspired by a real life friend, the kids and I filled the chalkboard with things we want to do this week while we’re on spring break. Determined not to do too much but also not to sit around for a week, we came up with this
~sleep in
~go out to dinner
~playground
~beach
~ride bikes
~go to the zoo
~go to the library
~bake cookies
~host playgroup
~crafts
~stay home (love that at the end of the list, my daughter wrote this one in by herself)
~make playdoh
~visit Gigi and Pop Pop
~play with friends
~Easter projects
~read books
~work on the garden
~work on new room
A lot of good clean (and some messy) fun we’ve been having the past few days and have in store the next few days. Not on the list are things like whining and using house decorations as soccer balls. Those are fun (for the kids) too, but I refuse to make them official.

That’s a great idea–that way, you don’t have to sit around worrying about ‘what to do.’ And it lets the kids be part of the planning process. I like it.

Ah, the nostalgia… My teenage kids’ Easter break list now includes going away on a course and a lot of sleeping, eating and being with friends.
