I spent the week making the house cozy and ready for Christmas. It was really really fun. But I also felt really good tonight when we just had a mellow family night, going out for pizza, renting $1 Christmas movie and coming home to drink hot chocolate and snuggle under fleece blankets on the couch together. It was nice to feel like I was just being and not doing Of course, we’ll be back at it tomorrow baking lots and lots of cookies so I can send some off to my brother soon. The beauty of this time of year and all the things to do and tasks to accomplish is that, for me, it’s really fun. I feel like with each project, not only am I making memories with my family, but I am doing something for someone. It feels really nice.
I am not the only one in blog land that is full of the holiday spirit. I have been totally floored and inspired by all the beautiful things that I see wonderful women doing in their own homes for their own families. It’s so fabulous. I’d like to share some of the beautiful and wonderful and inspiring words and ideas I found in my reader this week.
- Snowman Soup (definitely doing this for teacher gifts this year!)
- Do Less, Be More – totally inspired by this. Not just linking because she quoted my comment.
Happy weekend! Thank you, as always, for reading and being part of my life.

It has been that kind of week for me–after a work-filled and hectic Thanksgiving, it has been nice to relax and get some of the smaller tasks done while simply enjoying the beginnings of the holiday season. I spent the morning with a friend picking up a few gifts from local shops and am now enjoying a quiet night at home. Maybe I’ll even begin decorating a bit soon…
