I try to make special time for each of my kids just with me. Since my daughter is in school every weekday all day and my son only in preschool two mornings per week, he and I have more time together than she and I do.
It’s Friday. It was a long week. It’s hot. I asked if she wanted to go on an ice cream date. Just saying “date” makes this time we have together more special. I am a major advocate that doing something, anything, to make our moments feel just that little bit more special, is really necessary.
She went from school play clothes to a nice yellow dress (that she seems to choose for all of our dates – CUTE!) and then she slipped on her fancy shoes.
I couldn’t help but smile. I love that she sees these moments as special enough to wear her good shoes, and one of her nice dresses. The small touches that make each moment that much more special.
Make today special. Wear your nice shoes to get ice cream. It makes all $4 dates fabulous.

What a sweet moment
Thank you for the reminder, we try to do things one on one with each kid as well – they always love it!

So sweet! And you’re right it’s good to have one on one time with them, I take Lily to our local teashop once a week for a special Mummy/Daughter high tea – lots of fun! I’m loving the cute shoes with the yellow dress – a good combo!

I love it.
My son used to have a nice pair of pants that he called his “fancy pants.”
Kids are so great – and you do a wonderful job capturing the moment!
Hugs!
