It isn’t even remotely apparent here in Florida, but today is the first day of Autumn. It’s hot and it’s humid and we’re still spending time splashing in the waves at the beach. It’s still flip flops and t-shirts weather. But that won’t stop me from daydreaming. Thinking of chillier days to come, jumping in leaf piles and curling up with hot chocolate on cool evenings to read a book under a blanket.
I did this same exercise last year, but I’m not revisiting my list until after I’ve done this one so as to keep it authentic to who I am today.

20 things I love about fall:
1. chilly mornings snuggled under the covers
2. slippers
3. vanilla scented candles lit around my home
4. sipping hot chocolate
5. afternoon runs with leaves crunching underfoot
6. turtlenecks
7. my favorite pair of jeans
8. getting leaves in my hair
9. baking apple pie (or anything deliciously sweet for that matter)
10. homemade soup simmering on the stove
11. red, orange, yellow, brown and green
12. extra blankets on the beds
13. mums
14. swinging in the hammock
15. pumpkin spice lattes
16. my morning coffee in quietude (I admit I love that year round)
17. bonfires
18. holding hands
19. decorated porches lining streets
20. picking citrus from the yard
And here is last year’s list: 20 Things I Love About Autumn

The house is slowly getting cozier for fall. I’ll share some of that soon…
In the meantime, do tell – what do you love about fall?

Nearly everything! We go to pick apples every year, and I love that! I love jeans and sweaters and the perfect blue of an October sky. Turning leaves, the low golden light at the end of the day, frosty mornings. . . it is my favorite season!

Glad to find someone else who loves to whip out the turtlenecks. I have one favorite outfit — a dark green turtleneck, a pleated black skirt, and black knee-high boots, that I dream about wearing the first day it gets below 60 degrees….still waiting!

I have always loved fall – that probably stems from the fact my birthday is in October. HA!
I love the cool crispness – and I love that somedays you can still go without a jacket and others you need to bundle up.

Yes! Yes, yes, yes! My list mirrors yours exactly. Pumpkin spice latte . . . mmmmmmmm. And just yesterday, my daughter raced across the few leaves that have already fallen in the yard, and my heart thrilled to the sound of leaves crunching.
Not on your list that I also absolutely love – college football season. I can’t help myself.

I can first say that what I miss about fall is that cripness in the Northern air, the change of the leaves, and chilly mornings.
Here in Florida though, I can appreciate the first cold front after the sweltering summer, football, Halloween fun, playing outside more and more, cool nights on the beach, and the anticipation of the big holidays upcoming with family and friends.

Hi Emily
I love all those things, but mostly I love it towards the end, when winter is on the horizon, but not yet here and everything gets slower paced and everyone is snuggled up in the house

[...] 20 Things I Love About Fall @ Remodeling This Life [...]
Every year on the calander day marked autumn equinox I take a personal day off from work to celebrate the beginning of the most wonderful time of year. i wake up early put on a freshly laundered fluffy robe, put on a pot of coffee that will be a continuous pot for the whole day just so i can have that coffee smell lingering through out the house. Then I watch the first part of You’ve Got Mail, when both Meg Ryan and Tom hanks are describing new york in the fall, and how it makes them want to buy school supplies. Then afte that i get dressed in my favorite fall attire, and set out on the town to buy pupkins candles more coffee acorn squash for dinner….oh i love the fall i have even more little rituals i do that day to celebrate fall but i think i have already shared to much:).
