Life Is Handing Me Lemons

One of the things that hubby and I have been doing over the past couple of years here has been to add not only our fruit and vegetable garden but to plant trees that grow fruit. This is Florida and we have the outdoor space, so we’ve bought many many citrus trees. The first one we bought two years age has been growing really well. This year, the flowers started and now we have lemons growing. I can’t wait to get home in 6 weeks and see how they’re doing. Being able to walk outside when a recipe calls for lemon is exciting to me. I like being that little bit less dependent on a store.

I live in Central Florida. We have a lemon tree in our back yard. It is so nice to have fresh fruit. We also have an orange tree but, I don’t know how many more years it has left.

Hubby would love an avocado tree.

Totally true! We have a lemon tree in our yard and I LOVE using them. I haven’t bought lemons at the store since we moved in, four years ago. :)

That’s wonderful!! I tried growing lemons here in Georgia but you have to overwinter them inside and that didn’t work out! Lucky, lucky you!

How lucky are you! I can’t imagine running outside and plucking my very own lemons from my very own tree.

Less dependent on stores…I love it. Simple. Clean. Beautiful. My fruit trees? Not so much. Still dependent. Very dependent. Talk about like handing you lemons. :) Hope your vacation is good. Blessings. Sis

Oh, how beautiful! What a good use of your land. And how luxurious to have your very own citrus. Way to go!

If nothing else, you MUST have a lemon tree. I cant get enough using them. I drink 1/2 lemon in warm water every morning and I cook with them constantly!

Wow– how fun to see the same plants that are growing in MY garden…in Duluth,Minnesota….for those of you who don’t know where that is…120 miles from the Canadian border along the North Shore of Lake Superior! VERY differet growing conditions! Les
