Exactly one year ago, I wrote this post, Two Years Ago. I cannot believe another year has flown by. The past year has been full of projects around the house – you can see some of them here, Out With The Old. Even since that post, there have been plenty of changes. This home sometimes feels like a 3rd or 5th child if you count the two fur balls. It takes a lot of time and energy, but here we are still enjoying it. Surprise!

A lot of the past year was consumed with deciding if we should move or not. We considered it a lot. We looked at a lot of houses. We spent a lot of time weighing our options. What it came back to with each phone call and each home tour was that we love where we live. We’ve made this place home. A place neither one of us could have imagined falling in love with is now the place we can’t imagine leaving. It has given us a creative outlet, space to play, room to breathe and afforded us a lot of time together.

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
Happy 3rd anniversary, house.

What a near idea for a post, Emily! I love the top photo with your kids.
While my husband’s job is so busy, we plan to stay put, too, even though I get a wandering eye when I see the real estate prices drop.

A house is a big commitment. Happy 3rd anniversary to you and your house, Emily!
We’re quickly approaching 11 years in our house, and it seems hard to believe that it’s been that long. So many things we’ve done, lots of time and effort – in the end, though, lots of great great memories here. And a place that feels like “home”…
Here’s to all that the next 12 months bring your way!

Hi Emily
I have just come over from 4 Reluctant Entertainers and am so thankful I did, as I have been reading through your uplifting blog.
Like you, we are also in a point in our lives where we have been discussing whether or not we should move. We have also decided we have a home that we love and want to grow with.

We have occasionally done the same thing, considered the possible greener pastures of another home, but we love where we are, and what we are making of our house, and the ease with which we live in it. So we are staying put, as well.

Awww.. We are coming up on 5 years in our house and I can’t believe it. The only thing I wish for is a bigger yard. That is one of the only things that could tempt us to move.
