emily: yes- you need to call dyson. i ‘ve had a pretty bad experience with this product- they will walk you through a few “home fix” steps but if you can convince them that the “home fix” is not cutting the mustard, they will ship your vac FREE to their fix center, and fix what’s wrong with it. Just keep saying, “no, no, I don’t see any change.” And then you have to keep on top of them to send it back in a timely manner. I spent a LOT of time on the phone over this vac (correction: my husband did. I am not usually allowed to talk to customer service because they provoke my normally under-control temper, but i might point out that the new vac came after i spoke to CS when husband was not looking, mwahahahahaaaa!) but eventually I did get a new one. Better than spending $500 on a vac that does not work also: don’t let them know if the vac has sucked up dry wall dust because apparently that disqualifies you from a fix. I love that “this vac is guaranteed, unless you have picked something up off the floor with it. that voids your warranty.” Grrrr! dyson rage!

Sounds like a great weekend! I totally didn't unplug and now I'm afraid to show my face at ASPTL. Kimba's probably mad at me because I told her I would at least turn one computer off! Great post, and a reminder that the computer can be as much of a taskmaster as a job/Blackberry/etc. Sounds like a nice weekend, and those of us who live in colder climates (for the time being, at least) are envious!
