Dreaming of Summer Days

Dreaming of Summer Days

I never realized until I moved to Florida how much I love warm weather. And how much I despise the cold. If you saw me outside on any given day this past week, you’d have seen a grumpy girl hunched, with arms folded across her chest, walking very fast, clenching her teeth and perhaps grumbling too. I like the sunshine and am grateful that it peeks out nearly every day as opposed to the 27 winters before I moved here that were all gray skies. But you know what? Sunshine doesn’t cut it when it’s windy and cold. I know, it’s okay, you can glare at me. After all, the coldest it got this week was 25 degrees. I am spoiled. Whiny even.

In an effort to lift my spirits and add a dash of summer to the consecutive cold days, I made a vibrant fruit salad – my favorite summertime treat.

Remind me of how much I love summer when I am complaining about frizzy hair and mosquitoes in July, okay?

LOL! I think I’d enjoy this cold snap more if I at least had some long pants that fit. Other than that, I don’t mind it too much. I still hate our summers plenty.

I’m so with you! We’re in the same boat, weather-wise, and I’m miserable. I’m waiting for March for warmer temps! (Umm, and other reasons….)

I think February’s the hardest month for a lot of people in terms of weather. Maybe that’s why they made it the shortest!

I am from Jax. Fl. and I LOVE warm weather. I am flip flop & shorts kinda girl. We lived near Atlanta for about 5 years & it was so dreary for days on end. I like the sunshine. I don’t mind being hot or the humidity. I just love warm weather. I see people up north & they just look miserable. I told my husband that I know why people move to Florida. Being cold is far worse than being hot. We are moving to northern KY. in the summer and I am going to freeze to death:)

Beautiful fruit salad! I’m with you! It got up to 65 here in TN this week and my mood change was noticeable to all! I also gripe about the frizzy hair and mosquitoes in July! :) But winter blues are the worst!

It has even been pretty cool in Central Florida. Today the weather is actually nice enough to be outside.

I much prefer the warm weather over the cold.

Where we live, we’ve been having sub-zero temps and wind chills for what seems like at least a week or two. It STINKS. But, this weekend it finally warmed up and we’re in the lower 50s! YAY!

I’m sorry you had to deal with 20 degree weather. You live in Florida — you shouldn’t have to wear a parka to stay warm!

You might love Malaysia. It’s hot or warm or raining. No cold at all. And fruits and fruits.

One setback is that we have relatively high humidity, so we sweat more than in temperate climates.

    Still something to think about.
