[...] Re-Grout Wall and Floor Tiles - This sounds like more work than it really is. I’ve discovered it takes some elbow grease but doesn’t cost too much. And new grout will make your tiles look almost new again. Go ahead and take a close look at how dingy they may be… I’ve been slowly re-working the tiles in our bathroom!
I wonder if anyone can shed some light on matching up clawfoot tubs with pedestal sinks and toilets. I have a Kohler Bancroft toilet and pedestal sink which was designed to go with a non-freestanding, square, built-in tub. I would like to combine the sink and toilet with a freestanding, small, clawfoot tub. But the sink and toilet are squarish, and the tub, of course, won't be. Any rules about this? I wonder if I should just start from scratch which a matched suite? I've searched the internet for pictures and am beginning to think I should sell the sink and toilet for whatever I can get and start from scratch. Any ideas, information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Maureen - I know what you mean about pedestal sinks - we have just one tiny bathroom now with a pedestal sink and I don't like how little storage we have in there. I think it will be easier once that bathroom isn't our only bathroom. The new bathroom we are doing is going to have two pedestal sinks because we have them (free!) and our main objective is to make the room pretty but functional and there is going to be a LOT of built in storage. So think it will be okay without vanities. The armoire is pretty big, but I like seeing things like that so I can think outside the box and use something that suits my space better.

We're hoping to redo our bathrooms to a cottage style here. I love hexagon tiles, clawfoot tubs and wainscotting.

I agree that clawfoot bathtubs and wainscotting and pedestal sinks are all quite pretty to look at however, pedestal sinks aren't very practical. I'm an American living in England where pedestal sinks are very common (with the horrible separate taps) and I'm looking forward to the day when I can re-do our bathroom and get a sink (with a mixer tap!) with a vanity unit built around it (as in most American bathrooms).

I love the blue cupboard for storage by the way. Unfortunately something like that would never fit in my tiny bathroom. . I love living in England but I do miss the size of rooms in the USA.
