You can count on me to be late to a party. Julia at Hooked on Houses is hosting a Hooked on Holiday House Tours party today. It may be late but the day isn’t over, so here I am to play along.
My laptop got a virus last night. It was all my fault. It was awful. It was a mess. But the laptop is alive tonight and the virus is dead – so ha. I win!
My house has been looking a lot more everyday than holiday lately. I have shared a few of the little decorating ideas I’ve done. Simple Holiday Decorating and My Simple Holiday Home. Take a look around, enjoy a Gingerbread Cookie or five while you visit.
The outside of my house is pathetically un-festive. We have lights up across the front.

That’s it. Aside from our seasonally appropriate but not on purpose for Christmas red front door and green trim, there is nothing outside to show any sort of seasonal spirit.
On the inside of the door, my daughter hung a wreath. I think she was a bit embarrassed at my slacking so she took it upon herself to be sure we have a wreath.

I decided to do like I did this fall and I went porch snooping today. I drove around to check out some front porch inspiration and I took photos along the way. I obviously really really love the look of wreaths in windows. I suppose I could do that. Someday. For now I’ll just share a few lovely and inspiring front porches decorated for the holidays from around my town.

That’s all. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for not eating all the cookies!

LOL about your daughter! I love those porches! So beautiful! Thanks for taking photos of them!

I love decorated houses. We have a few light we string up with some fresh white pine and cedar garland (I love those big old lights).
There’s a small local festival in a historic town that has a traditional door decorating contest, so all the doors are festively decorated with fruits and greend, a great way to kick off the holiday season.
Here’s a link if you’d like to see a few of trees & decor:
