Glimpses of Autumn

Glimpses of Autumn

I have to keep reminding myself it’s November. I love this time of year, but I would be lying if I said that I don’t miss being in the Northeast. Or anywhere without palm trees for that matter. I really love falling leaves and changing colors and crunching leaves underfoot.

Check out this gorgeous photo that made me homesick for the North in a heartbeat.

Here in Florida, the glimpses of fall I have seen so far are more like this

Okay, I’ll stop. I miss real Autumn.

How does this season look where you are?

A lot of the winter around here I would love to be where you are! But early fall here in Portland is just lovely. We don’t have as many changing leaves as perhaps back East, but we do have some gorgeous ones in and around all those evergreens!

Most of the trees have shed their leaves after the frost last week. Almost all of the fruit has long gone and it’s been raining since Sunday. :-(

Our fall has been really really WARM (like 70+ degrees just two days ago). Today though? Expecting snow, at the very least, ice.

I am so sorry you are not able to enjoy a true autumn this year. I am in Denver, CO and I am amazed by how beautiful everything is. Leaves that span the entire rainbow are everywhere! Also, the temperature is very invigorating.

ah, the grass is always greener… it’s funny, as beautiful as the fall colors are here (Denver), I’d take palm trees any day. :)

Autumn here (Texas) looks a whole lot like autumn there – warm and green and sunny. I grew up in the northeast and I do miss a good autumn! Can’t wait to get back. *fingers crossed*
