A Tour of My Casa

A Tour of My Casa

Hello and welcome! Today, Julia from Hooked on Houses is hosting a house tours party. I hope you’ll enjoy your visit and pardon the dust while you’re here. If you haven’t been here before, you can read about me. You’ll find that this house has been a labor of love as we’ve taken on gutting and building it new again from the slab up all by our little selves.

Come on inside and I’ll show you around.

Our entry way is under construction but we have a cute greeter
Photobucket
more on that space another day.

Here is our living room
Photobucket
I’m getting a little virtual help with this room at the moment. It’s been essentially like this for 2 years now and feels uninspired. But please, make yourself comfortable.

Now we’ll head outside
Photobucket

and visit the patio
Photobucket
Photobucket

Okay, back inside and moving right along to the kitchen
Photobucket
Photobucket

Off the eating area is my daughter’s room

Off the kitchen is my son’s room. This has been a huge long process but it is finally nearing completion. As of last night, he slept in his brand new bed. You’re seeing it here first, so please, feel honored!
Photobucket

And next to that is the room hubby and I currently call ours
Photobucket
That’s an old photo, but sadly it still looks like that a year later. I lost all desire to fix it all pretty how I want it because I am waiting for this, my master bedroom and bathroom, to be renovated.

That’s pretty much it. My humble abode. If you’re interested in seeing more of the house remodel and the process we’ve undergone, you can check out our house remodel photos and the honey do list.

And if you just like seeing pretty house photos and don’t care who the house belongs to, I’ve shared photos of my family’s cottage and the room for my kids at my parents’ house.

I hope you enjoyed your little tour of my tiny work of love.

Now head back on over to Julia’s place and visit other fabulous home tours!

Owning a home is always a “work in progress”… Yours is very nice – but the best picture is the first – and it’s all because of the cute greeter you have – it’s adorable!! And that’s what makes a house a home…

I have to agree with Lance…is it ever really ‘done’?

Emily, I love your kitchen, it’s perfect! So much sunlight, too, love that! I bet you can’t wait for your new room to be finished, how exciting!

You have the cutest greeter on the tour;)

How does he like his “big boy bed”? Love the picture of him sitting at your red front door. (I really like the color of your door!)

You’ve got great trim around your windows. Our builder didn’t put any trim around our windows at all, so my husband has been slowly adding it around the house. Amazing what a difference it makes in a room.

Your kitchen is so big and bright and cheerful. I really like that picture of the window with the flowers and hanging baskets.

Thanks so much for joining the blog party, Emily, and inviting us into your home today! :-)

You truly are a kindred spirit in the remodelling world. Personally, since we moved into our home last year, I underestimated the time and money involved in renovating. They make it look so easy in those home decorating shows where they neatly “flash to the reveal” within a half an hour. I keep reminding myself that “the joy is in the journey” and I don’t have to do it all at once, you know?

With that said, I can’t believe all of the work that you have done! Your house is lovely. I really like how your son’s bed turned out…and your kitchen and your patio!

Hello Emily …. it was lovely to tour your home … if you go back thru some entries I did mine some time ago … in it’s al a natural state of mess.

I love you yellow walls – we had that exact colour in our own Dunedin home – not the one I have featured as part of this tour … in a cold climate it worked a treat to bring the sun indoors …

My best to you and your wee little greeter :) le
