I definitely find having pot plants in the house a great, cheap way to decorate. I'm also addicted to having fresh flowers in my living room, for £5 a bunch that lasts a week they add so much colour and interest that I think the price is well worth it :)

FruGals last blog post..<a href="http://www.totallymoney.com/frugal/?p=365" rel="nofollow">Introducing: “Five Frugal Minutes with…”</a>

we have a dearth of seashells around here :) But I love stand-alone ones too. I think another great way to decorate is to put dried reeds and dried flowers in interesting glass vases. you often get vases for free from those flower delivery services, and you can find the reeds on your walks (or pussywillows, have you ever seen that? they are so haunting) . There is also a nice selection of inexpensive large vases at IKEA. Dried reeds & flowers are very nice for the fall and cheaper than fresh flowers, which I love but which can get expensive in the wintertime.
