Melissa over at The Inspired Room put together a list of 20 Little Things to Treasure in Autumn and asked other bloggers to make their own lists. I am all about being sappy and appreciating the little things so I thought I would throw together my own list of things that I love about Autumn.
I live in Florida but grew up in the Northeast. Needless to say, the season expresses itself a bit differently here than up north. Fall is my favorite time of year and is one of the things I miss about where I grew up.
Here is my list of things I love about Autumn
- cozy turtlenecks
- crunching leaves underfoot
- raking leaf piles to jump in
- family hikes
- hot apple cider simmering on the stove with cinnamon sticks
- curling up under a cozy blanket to read a book
- numb fingers after a long run
- walking my dogs
- slipper socks
- drinking coffee on the patio in a big fleecy robe first thing in the morning
- picking vegetables from the garden
- carving pumpkins
- burning vanilla candles
- picnic lunches
- wood burning stoves
- roasting marshmallows over a bonfire
- the harvest moon
- pumpkin spice lattes
- hot soup simmering on the stove
- and because I live in Florida…cool evening walks on the beach

ooooooh! I love fall too! One of my favorite things (the rest are already on your list!) is my college alma mater in the fall. Not only was it always great to be back at school, it was always so beautiful. I’ve got to make sure to get during peak foliage this year.

I love Autumn too, but I live in California we have fall, but this morning I could smell fall, crisp, clean air. I try to go to the East Coast to see the trees change color and the crisp air. Yes, I love fall, not winter but fall.
Have a nice week,

Autumn’s one of my favourite seasons – there’s so much you can do in autumn that you can’t do in summer. Big jumpers are so cozy to wear and I love all the free fruit that’s about. And, of course, there’s the fantastic fiery colours of the leaves.

Great list, especially #2, #10, and #12. If I could add a #21 to that list it would be this:
Seeing all the funny, ridiculous, scary, pathetic, amazing, disturbing, and wild costumes that kids come to the house with on Halloween night!
Just came across your blog and have subscribed to your feed. I am looking forward to perusing your archives soon.

I live in California, so seasons are subtle. I love it when it gets cool enough to wear sweaters.

Turtlenecks! My personal fave. I love fall clothes. I cannot wait to wear boots. I will complain to the high heavens when I am freezing in my own house later this winter, but Fall seems utterly perfect to me! At least where I live!
Thanks for sharing your list!!
Happy Fall!

Autumn – my favorite season! I love your list. Being from Wisconsin (a bit north of you) – I treasure cool morning runs and late evening walks (with a big sweatshirt). And the changing color of the leaves. And a good scarecrow!

I wish I can get to experience fall from where I come from. I live in Singapore, near the tropics. It’ll be nice to experience the changing of the seasons. I can only do this in my travels.

Very good webpage. I acquired a whole lot of very good knowledge. I?ve been maintaining an eye on this technology for awhile. It?s intriguing how it keeps shifting, yet a few of the core parts keep the same.
