Groceries is something she has to get anyway, and now as an added bonus she saves on gas. That's a good way to build customer loyalty. I even think it's better than offering a discount on groceries because the relationship between shopping at that store and getting a benefit (cheaper gas) is more direct. That is a neat deal.
