A Baby Bird Nesting
Yesterday afternoon as hubby and the kids and I were playing out in our yard, we noticed a mommy bird flitting back and forth to a nest in one of our palm trees. We watched quietly and enjoyed the sight. My daughter, 3, thought this was about the neatest thing ever!

It is pretty cute!
After we came inside for the evening, she kept pretending to be a baby bird. First, after getting cleaned up from playing in the dirt, she curled up in her towel on the floor of the kitchen while I cooked dinner proclaiming “I’m a baby bird in my nest!” She decided to take this little game of imaginary fun further and while I cooked, she and hubby and her little brother went around the house, flitting if you will, finding things to make her a nest with in her bed. Her nest now consists of one long stuffed snake from ikea, two brown sweaters (they had to be brown!), my apron, some flowers, a wooden train track, a big blanket, and a few other little things. She and her koala curled up and slept quite well in the little nest last night.

It was a neat little exercise in creativity, decorating, and as my daughter says “this is good repurposing!”
That, it is!

Aww. I loved having lots of blankets as a kid. Forts, tents, nests….yay!

Did she really say “this is good repurposing”?? That is too funny!

Yes, she really says that! LOL! I guess she hears me mumbling to myself a lot “how can I repurpose this?” and has caught on!
