Sunday Roundup – The Poked and Prodded Edition

Sunday Roundup – The Poked and Prodded Edition

Well, it’s finally the end of the week. It wasn’t exactly the greatest one for me. Doctors visits and on top of that, I went and got my bottom braces put on and my wires tightened. I am feeling a wee bit uncomfortable but hopefully it will be short-lived. The good news is because I can’t chew anything, my diet is severely restricted and I weigh less than I have in at least 5 years. Always a silver lining!

On with the roundup!

Ron at The Wisdom Journal shared My Worst Decision Ever. It’s an emotional look at the ramifications of making job choices based just on money.

Paid Twice wrote Earning More Doesn’t Help Unless You Spend Less. She’s so smart!

Look at the pretty pictures at Two Wise Acres HDR Photos – A Stunning Way to Market Real Estate. I am such a sucker for pretty house pictures.

Frugal Dad posted The Ultimate Frugal Weekend – A 48 Hour Spending Fast. I have had the thought in my mind to do a week of not spending a dime but something keeps coming up, like copays for doctors visits and such. I need to stop making excuses and just do it though. I am sure it will feel good.

Being Frugal put together this amazing list of Frugal Tips to Survive a Recession.

I am going to take a stab at making myself a ruffled apron following this Ruffled Apron Tutorial at Blissfully Domestic. I have quickly come to love aprons recently so I am going to try to do something fun and crafty to supply myself with a few more of them. They’ll make me feel all domestic goddess-like.

Jeff at My SuperCharged Life presented Use Emotion to Accelerate Your Success and Accomplish Goals. I pretty much use emotion for everything I do, good or bad. It’s interesting to see it laid out like this because I never really thought about doing it, it’s just how I do things. I like his tips for finding inspiration and motivation.

There you go! Hubby is off work this weekend so I am wrapping this up early and having a fun family weekend. Enjoy your reading!

    Thanks for the link!
That was a difficult article to write. A few days ago, my wife told me about a talk she had with our children about money and mentioned how she had always regretted selling her 1st anniversary present because of our financial situation. I was floored. I didn’t know and part of my guilt was that I SHOULD have known.

Thankfully, she’s an awesome, forgiving, and loving woman.

Thanks for giving my emotions a boost by including my article! We all need encouragement from time-to-time. I hope the discomfort from your braces eases. I love your way of looking for the silver lining!
