Priceless

Priceless

My maternal grandmother had a stroke in October. She wasn’t supposed to survive more than 24 hours it was so severe. She couldn’t speak, move her arms, feed herself, recognize faces. She couldn’t do much of anything.

Now…just over two months later…she can play a hand of Bridge and win, hold a telephone conversation, recognize people at her church (yes, she’s up to going to church!), identify people in old photo albums. Best of all, she can write!

I got a handwritten, love-filled Christmas card from my Grandma this year. Money can’t buy that kind of perfection, that kind of miracle, or that kind of love. The best gifts of all are the ones money can’t buy.

    That’s great! :D

My grandfather survived a stroke/heart attack combo and lived for another 30 years! (he was only about 50 when it happened.) Here’s to many more happy years with your grandmom in good health!

    That is wonderful!

My grandfather had cancer and wasn’t supposed to live more than two months. He lived two years longer and died of a heart attack, not cancer. Doctors don’t always know. I’m glad your grandma is doing so well!

I’m happy that your grandmother is doing better. I’m sure your support gave her strength to continue. Hope you have many more years of happy memories with her!
